Ayumu Tanaka, a novice Shogi player, joined the Shogi club out of affection for Urushi Yaotome. Despite intending to confess if he wins, his actual skills are not that impressive. However, Ayumu's determination and aggressive spirit keep Urushi constantly worried. On and off the board, the rivalry between the two continues unabated in the Shogi club with just two members.
